November 1 – 7, 2025
A Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Morocco
Let yourself be held by yoga, meditation, and beauty in one of the world’s most vibrant corners.
This retreat is a soft journey inward—an invitation to come back to yourself while surrounded by the rich textures, spices, and colours of Marrakesh.
We’ll weave together slow, grounding yoga practices with moments of silence, nourishing food, deep rest, and connection. There will be time to move, to be still, to wander, and to simply breathe. This is a retreat where you can listen closely to what your body and soul are asking for.
Our home for the week is a peaceful, magnificent riad with views of the Atlas mountains—a place of warmth and calm, where the sound of birds greets you at sunrise and the scent of spices lingers in the air. Each detail is curated with care: from the nourishing homemade meals to the intimate group setting that invites connection and ease.
To deepen your experience of this beautiful land, we’ll also venture out together: we’ll visit the lively old medina of Marrakesh, hike through the majestic Atlas mountains and get to know some local berber villages.
This will be our last retreat of 2025, and it holds something quietly special. A chance to close the year with presence and grace. To land in yourself before the next chapter begins.
THE TEACHERS
Adela Serrano and Paloma Dorado
Adela Serrano
Adela is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, with extensive anatomy knowledge and a compassionate and skillful approach to yoga.
Her yoga journey started in New York while she was facing a major change in her life; motherhood. Practicing Yoga helped her to feel more at home with herself and her changing circumstances.
She felt inspired to teach thanks to one of her first teachers in New York, Jenny Aurthur who as she says: “Literally pulled out the best of me and helped me in my journey.” She learn from Maty Ezraty and Carrie Owerko, great sources of inspiration in her New York years.
In Amsterdam, she became a certified Iyengar teacher with the help of Barbara Queirolo, Kristien Van Reusel and Rembert Petrus. She also specializes in injury prevention and injury recovery.
Her anatomy knowledge makes her teaching style very safe but also challenging for all levels. According to the old Yoga teachings, her classes bring attention to the poses and movements/actions as a way to access a more refined body and mind awareness.
“I like to demystify complex concepts to make the practice of Yoga applicable to everyday life, I am a devoted student and practitioner and I bring my all in every class I teach.” Adela Serrano
She likes to call her life, her family, relationships and her students her true teachers.
After living in different countries since 2000, Adela, originally from Spain, lives and teaches in the Netherlands.
Adela teaches classes and workshops in Amsterdam, The Hague and for online yoga studio EkhartYoga.com, with more than 800.000 students all over the world.
You can find her on www.adelaserranoyoga.com and EkhartYoga.com
Paloma Dorado
Paloma started practising meditation 20 years ago, guided by a desire to understand human nature. Passionate about the relationship between science and spirituality, she studies Physical Sciences, and later, she works for the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), located in Geneva.
At the same time, she trained as a therapist in various energy techniques and therapies, and collaborates with the meditation instructor Javier de Salas as an assistant, in retreats and workshops in Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong and Bali, including the Asia Yoga Conference and the Om Yoga Show, in London .
She immerses herself in the practice of yoga and trainned as a Sama Yoga teacher, a soft and deep style, which combines classic Hatha yoga asanas with Chi Kung postures and mantras, and as a yin yoga teacher.
Guided by her love for yoga and meditation, she founded Shama Retreats, as a conscious life project, where she shares spaces for practice, rest and connection. Nowadays, Shama Retreats, is a small company which organizes around 16 yoga and meditation retreats per year in nature, in Spain and Portugal, in collaboration with international teachers.

THE VENUE
Just outside Marrakesh, at the edge of the Atlas Mountains, there is a quiet oasis where time slows down.
Between olive groves, clay paths, and fragrant gardens, everything invites rest and simplicity. The architecture blends with the land—natural tones, open courtyards, shaded terraces—creating an atmosphere that is both grounding and expansive.
Each room is unique, calm, and carefully designed to offer comfort without excess. We’ll practice in an open, peaceful shala surrounded by nature, and spend time outdoors—in silence, in movement, or simply being.
Meals are vegetarian, local, and prepared with care by an expert Moroccan chef: colourful, nourishing, and full of flavour. Much of what we eat comes from the garden itself or nearby producers.
You’ll also have time to enjoy the outdoor pool, traditional hammam, and restorative argan oil massages. This is a true invitation to slow down and care for your body.
There is wifi access in the reception area, but not in the rooms—something that often helps guests disconnect from their phones and reconnect more deeply with the natural surroundings.
A space to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with what truly matters. A pause in the warmth of Morocco, between earth, light, and stillness.
How to get there?
Most major European cities offer direct flights to Marrakesh.
The retreat center is located approximately 50 minutes from the airport, and round-trip transportation is included in the price of the retreat to make your arrival and departure as smooth as possible.
Just send us your flight details, and a member of the retreat center staff will be waiting to welcome you at Marrakesh Airport.
We recommend booking a flight that arrives before 3:00 PM on November 1 and departs after 2:30 PM on November 7, to align comfortably with the retreat schedule.
Check-in for rooms begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you arrive earlier or leave later, you’re welcome to rest or have lunch at the retreat center while you wait.
When planning your trip, please consider the start and end times of the retreat program so you can be fully present for the welcome ceremony and the closing circle—we’d truly appreciate it!
