The Art of Sequencing – Function, Form and Flow
with Nichi Green
Madrid

The course will be taught in English, with Spanish translation.

Learn the art of Vinyasa style Yoga, how to sequence and be more creative and fluid in your practice. In this three part workshop we will explore how to develop sequences that drive your practice and your teaching. All of this is inspired and guided by the breath which informs the foundation of Nichi’s teaching.

In these workshops, you will learn:

  • How to adapt the sequences to your intention: create vinyasas to free the spine, shoulders and hips.
  • Elaborate fluid transitions
  • Create sequences to strengthen the core and improve the alignment.
  • How to build stability, strength and focus your vinyasas
  • Yamuna body rolling to align and release tension in the body.

These workshops are perfect for yoga teachers and teacher training students and recommended for yoga students interested in join a TTC in the future or dedicated yoga students who want to improve their own practice.

It is highly recommended to take all workshops together, if possible.

The course can be taken as an 9 hours elective and counts towards CPDs (Continuing Professional Development) with Yoga Alliance UK.

Function

Friday 2 February 2018. 18.30 – 21.00

What informs and guides our Yoga practice? How do we develop a practice that serves us and nurtures us?

We will look at mini sequences to liberate the spine, shoulders and hips, exploring basic anatomy. We will start with some Yamuna body rolling to create space, align and release tension.

Form

Saturday 3 February 2018. 10.00 – 13.30

Why is how we move from one posture to another so important in vinyasa?

This workshop will focus on core sequences, alignment and vinyasas. Looking at how the vinyasas build stability, strength and focus, Nichi will introduce some modern vinyasas with modifications where needed.

Flow

Saturday 3 February 2018. 15.30 – 18.30

Working on fluidity and moving with the breath we will explore vinyasa yoga with music.

Our energy and are body can feel different from day to day. We will look at sequences that can be used in a more gentle or dynamic way.

How does the breath guide us? We will begin with pranayama and finish with a guided meditation.

This will be a workshop that moves you and leaves you with a deep felling of stillness and peace.
